As a foster carer with your Foster Wales Ceredigion team, you will receive generous financial allowances. These are based on a number of factors like the type of fostering you undertake, how many children you foster, and for how long.
For example, right now, foster carers in Ceredigion receive between £9,932 and £18,200 per year for each child fostered.

Our commitment means a consistent framework and services for development across Wales. As part of your foster care training in Ceredigion, you will receive all the tools and guidance you need to fully meet the needs of the children in your care, and to feel confident, capable and happy doing so.
All foster parents with Foster Wales Ceredigion are given an individual personal learning record and development plan. This will log any foster carer training courses in Ceredigion that you have taken. It also helps to recognise a carer’s journey, outline new transferrable skills which have been mastered, and aid in planning for the future.

Your closest connection will likely be with your social worker. Our Supervising Social Workers are skilled and experienced professionals, and are on hand to you, your family and your entire network if needed.
Beyond your social worker, professional support is available 24/7. So, whatever you need, whenever you need it, we’re here for you.
We also encourage our foster parents to access our range of support groups as these allow you to meet other foster carers in the local area. You can chat, listen and share experiences. Many of our groups members go on to become firm friends.
Wherever you live in Wales, peer support is available and can make a huge difference in your journey. Whether you’re a couple or a single person, care for siblings or offer therapeutic care, we have a community where people understand.
fostering community
When you join Foster Wales, we pay for you to become a member of The Fostering Network (TFN) and the Association for Fostering and Adoption (AFA) Cymru, as standard. These are specialist fostering organisations that offer independent support, private advice, guidance and a whole host of additional benefits.
Beyond local groups and your immediate support team, you will also be invited to regular events and to partake in activities aimed at bringing foster families closer together. They’re pretty fun, and a great experience to build friendships and memories. Plus, they’re a reminder of how big and welcoming the fostering community in Ceredigion really is.
